The Gateway: Melbourne show was another partnership with the East China Normal University focusing on artists working in public space with a focus on Australian Chinese dialogue. The exhibition was held at the Chinese Museum, Melbourne and launched RMIT University's Art in Chinatown Strategy, a strategy proposed to activate contemporary art in the Chinatown Precinct. Gateway was an exhibition of contemporary art dealing with intercultural dialogue between China and Australia from multiple perspectives. Artists featured in the exhibition included Geoff Hogg, Cameron Robbins, Clare Leporati, Greg Szopa, Claire Tracey, Joanna Buckley, Maggie McCormick, Shao Xiong Chia, Tammy Wong, Jacqui Chan and Julian Clavijo and from East China Normal University, Shanghai, China Wei Tianyu & Angela Zhang.
