Artists Incubator: Glenroy (2013-5)

The Artists Incubator: Glenroy was a research framework developed to activate arts activities in Glenroy, Victoria. Using a different approach to curating, artists were encouraged to spend time building relationships in the local community over a period of six months. Through a residency program located at the Wheatsheaf Hub, Glenory, artists Claire Tracey, Sofi Basseghi, Phil Edwards, Rebecca Mayo and James Voller were invited to work in the local area to develop projects with the Glenroy community.

The residency resulted in a range of Glenroy based activities with the coming together of the local community through Gathering Glenroy, November, 2015. Gathering Glenroy bought together the artists by presenting works and workshops to share with the Glenroy community. Below various communities were involved including the Vicseg Asylum Seekers Social Health Group and the Itiki Sports Network.

This project was developed in partnership with Moreland City Council's and funded by the Cultural Fund.
