These works come from my Collage series, where I responded to the clash of images of tragedy of current world affairs and luxury products of advertising in local media. At the time I thought about how these issues enter our consciousness and invade our private and personal spaces through various media such as the social media, magazines, newspapers and television, exploring the relationship of consuming world tragedy in the comfort and distance of our safe and removed homes. These works were exhibited at Newcontemporaries Gallery, Sydney, NSW, 2000.
